Bio

Veronica Leigh was born and raised in California. She has been surrounded by music her whole life took on the role of performer quite easily. She grew up listening to the sounds of Jazz, Blues and Country. Some of the first songs she ever sang were those of Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Patsy Cline. She learned how to do licks and harmonize by studying horn music her father would listen to and singing along.

As she grew up Veronica took advantage of every music opportunity that came her way. She would sing in musicals, school chorus, she recorded with local artists, sang commercial jingles and education materials. She learned to play the piano, violin, and guitar and would take vocal advice from anyone who would give it. In her teen years she would travel to and from her home town and Los Angeles or San Francisco to record and/or perform. Most of the time she would leave directly after school and have to fly back the same night or early the next morning before class.

At the age of 18 Veronica left home to go to college. She attended the University of Arizona and Berklee College of music. She continued her efforts towards her career during her three years in college and graduated with a degree in Journalism and Spanish.

Now at the age of 24 she is living out her dream of singing country music in Nashville TN. She is currently recording her own material while writing as much as she can, and singing back-up/harmony for other local artists. She performs with her band about 2 times a week, sings at open mic and writers nights and writes with many local writers! She toured the country last year and is hoping to do the same this summer with a few over seas dates as well! She tends to write edgy songs from the heart and isn’t afraid to write about things that might shock people. Veronica is trying to stay loyal to country’s roots while mixing in a little California flavor. Keep checkin in for updates!!!
